Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association by American Psychological Association (2009, Paperback)

When buying and/or selling, it's always wise to do research on the item(s) BEFORE you buy and/or sell it on Ebay. This guide also pertains to any sites offering products for sale.

I, for one, spend a lot of time doing research on items I buy, not only to get information about the item but to find out it's value, in addition, to if the item is rare or hard-to-find. By doing this research, BEFORE I list the item, I can not only pass that information to you but give details on the item itself, like measurements and so on. In other words, I do all the work for you and you can rest assure the items, I list, are the real deal.

With this being said, researching can be tedious work and very time consuming but when purchasing any item on Ebay or any other site offering products for sale, make sure you research the item before buying or selling. Especially, if you're in doubt, wondering if this item is to-good-to-be-true and/or if it's a fake or spoof.

By taking time to research and finding information and/or images about the item, you'll not only learn from the experience but save yourself a lot of heartache and frustration. : )

Kenwood KDC-348U In Dash Receiver

Do NOT deal with Geoff White/Choice Automotive/Tampabaymotorsports2012/West Coast Auto out of Clearwater, Florida. He may also be in Odessa, Tarpon Springs, Spring Hill, and/or Tampa. Geoff White is as dishonest as they come. My husband and I bought a 2004 BMW X5 from him December 10, 2011. As soon as Geoff was funded, his communications became nonsensical, erratic, and dishonest. He lied about the condition of the car, shipping the car, and the location of the car when we tried to arrange for our own transport. He would not send us the title. After weeks of receiving the runaround from him, we learned that he inexplicably titled the car in Florida. We are Virginia residents. When the car was finally delivered nearly one month after we purchased it, it was readily apparent that it had major, undisclosed engine damage. The engine was lurching and leaking massive amounts of oil. Geoff described the car as "flawless." The radio does not work, the heat does not work, and the panoramic moonroof does not work. The car has 3000 more miles than disclosed. He sent us temporary tags that expired January 12, 2012, so we have an undriveable, unsafe, unregistered, and unlicensed car leaking oil in front of our house. We could not get tags because the title is tied up in Florida. One estimate called for replacing the engine at a staggering $25,000 (we paid $15,000 for the car.) His lying is pathological. Strangely, he stays in contact with you while he is scamming you. Though the substance of his communications do not make sense, I think part of his scheme is to stay in communication with you and lie through his teeth to buy himself more time. He also has an assistant named "D" or "D Frye." We are not sure if this person actually exists, but someone purporting to be "D" also contacts you using Geoff's email address and carries on the ridiculous, nonsensical communications. The communications from Geoff and "D" would have been sort of funny if it did not involve $15,000 - they are not particularly smart or sophisticated. When Geoff is confronted with a lie, he immediately tells another one that makes even less sense than the one before it.

Run far, far, far away if you see his name.

We had to contact eBay's Vehicle Protection Program - it is reimbursing us for the car and shipping costs. During eBay's negotiation with Geoff, it shut down his Choice Auto account and he opened up the tampabaymotorsports2012 account on January 5, 2012. eBay shut that account down as well, but I have no doubt that he will try to resurface on eBay to defraud others. This has been a nightmare. We spent hours trying to untangle his lies and piece together the truth from various sources. One theory we have for the delivery delay is that he was trying to get the car to start before he shipped it to us-hoping that we would not discover the major engine damage until we had the car in our possession for a few weeks. It would have been too late at that point for us to pursue recourse through eBay. He has a civil attorney because he is the named defendant in multiple civil lawsuits. I believe he used to operate under the name West Coast Auto. Check out the Lee County, Florida docket. This guy is a scamartist, and a third-rate one at that. It is only a matter of time before he becomes the subject of a criminal investigation (if he is not already). I hope that soon Geoff will lose his ability to issue licenses and titles in Florida. If you are dealing with him and you read this, you should consider yourself warned.

The BCCG grading problem - DON'T OVERPAY FOR CARDS

Where it gets tricky is when collectors consider the purchase of a Beckett-graded card. Beckett, which has a well-known name in the hobby, offers a wide array of grading services, but only two of them may be considered equal in quality control to PSA and SGC. Those two Beckett services are BVG and BGS only. A third Beckett service, BCCG, attempts to capitalize on the well-known numerical grading scale collectors are familiar with (1 through 10) as a way to make it appear to novice collectors that the card is in nicer condition than it actually is. Please be advised that a BCCG 8 is not equal to a PSA 8, far from it. In fact, a BCCG 8 card will declare right on its flip (or holder label) that the card is only "EXCELLENT OR BETTER" whereas a PSA 8 means the card is truly high grade, or NEAR MINT-MINT. The Beckett description is just a sneaky way of saying the card is in excellent, or mid-grade, condition. The "or better" part of the statement is meaningless. So if you buy a BCCG 8 card, you need to know that what you are buying is a mid-grade card that will exhibit flaws such as four worn or fuzzy corners, very bad centering, print defects, focus and registration problems, staining and miscuts. I have even seen cards in BCCG 8 holders with minor creases on them. So really if you purchase a BCCG 8, you should only be paying the price of a PSA 5, which also means "EXCELLENT." Similarly, if you buy a BCCG 9, you should be paying about PSA 6 or maybe 7 prices. If you buy a BCCG 10, calm down, you haven't found a super-rare card or the finest condition specimen known to man. What you've found is a card that is PSA 8 caliber, or more likely PSA 7, or only NRMT, so you must pay accordingly. NRMT cards are pretty common, and your BCCG 10 is common, so don't pay uncommon prices.

So how are some sellers using this to their advantage? Let's use the example of a 1981 Topps Football Joe Montana RC. A Joe Montana RC graded PSA 7 will sell for about $70 on eBay. Now if we see a different Joe Montana RC, graded BCCC 8, should we pay more than a PSA 7? Should we pay about the same price as a PSA 7? The correct answer to both questions is NO! We should pay about the price of a PSA 5, or $37, because the card is a mid-grade card guaranteed to exhibit one or more of the flaws I mentioned above. Now some sellers, of course, will list their "Buy It Now" BCCG 8 Joe Montana at or above the price of a PSA 7, in hopes that a novice collector will see it, be confused and purchase the card at the Buy-It-Now price on the basis of the "8" numerical grade. Sometimes, the price will be lower than what a PSA 8 sells for, so the buyer may think the $85 Buy It Now price for a BCCC 8 is a good deal because it is less than the $100 average selling price of a PSA 8. But NO - that buyer actually just threw some cash down the toilet because he paid $85 for a card that's really only worth $37. Further compounding the problem is that some sellers will add terms like BVG and BGS to the auction title in an attempt to capture eBay search traffic, but if the buyer looks at the actual card they will see it's been graded by the inferior BCCG service. So beware if you see a listing like: 1981 Topps Joe Montana RC #216 BGS BCCG 8. The seller is trying to confuse you!

Make sense? Still with me? Now some of you may be thinking "Well, how can anyone fall for that?" or "Only an idiot would overpay for a card with obvious flaws like that." But I can tell you it happens every day on this site. That's why I'm writing this guide. One infamous and well-documented example involves the 1949 Leaf Satchel Paige RC. Years ago, a low-grade Paige in a SGC 20 holder (or PSA 2) sold in a major auction house for about $3,200, which is the accurate market value for a card in that condition. A few months later smart collectors documented that the very same card, featuring major back damage, was cracked out of its SGC holder and encapsulated by BCCG as a BCCG 6, then listed on eBay. The selling price? $8,000. Did the winning bidder get a fair deal? Was he scammed? Is a fool easily parted from his money? I'll let you be the judge.

So what's the most obvious way to not get taken? Look at the card itself. Look HARD for flaws. If you see worn corners or bad centering - then just pay accordingly! If you have 3 bad corners, that card is not Near Mint despite what the holder says. Buy the card, not the holder - it's that simple. It's not my intention here to write an endorsement of either PSA or SGC, but rather to provide some guidance and help for beginning collectors. Some other grading services really aren't even worth mentioning, other than to say you probably shouldn't buy them due to well-established and major credibility problems. Those are MINT, PRO, GEM GRADING and GAI. If you purchase a card graded by one of those companies, don't be surprised if the card within the holder has been trimmed.

CS100 Bamboo Stylus Pen for Apple iPad Tablet

The Skinny

Created by Wacom, the world's leading manufacturer of digital pen tablets and interactive pen displays whose products define the standard for the entire industry, the CS100 Bamboo Stylus Pen for Apple iPad is the ultimate finger alternative, fusing ergonomic design and a beautiful exterior befitting the device for which it is intended.

The Wacom CS100 Bamboo Stylus looks and is used like a normal pen, but don't let its appearance fool you, it is so much more. This 120mm-long stylus is composed of satin-textured, matte-finished metal ending in a thick and strong tip of black rubber, accented by silver highlights and a pocket hook. The tips of most styli on the market today are 8mm, but the tip of the Wacom CS100 Bamboo Stylus is a whole 25% narrower, a mere 6mm! The stylus has been weight-balanced and clocks in at only 20 grams, offering a firm, comfortable fit for one's hand.

The Wacom CS100 Bamboo Stylus is ideal for all manner of digital inking activities, business, academic, and artistic, from handwriting notes, to sketching, to reading and highlighting text, to editing documents. It can even be used to switch between the various iPad screens or scroll and turn pages! The Wacom Bamboo Stylus also offers excellent assistance when using applications, including Penultimate™, Autodesk® SketchBook® Mobile, and Wacom's own Bamboo Paper pad.

The Technics

The Wacom CS100 Bamboo Stylus Pen for Apple iPad works by mimicking an electrical charge given off by the human finger. Older touchscreen technology operated on a resistive basis, meaning practically any type of hard stimulus would suffice for the screen to respond. Recent touchscreen technology instead operates on a capacitive basis, so no longer will any old bit of cheap plastic do. Only the human finger, or a product engineered to duplicate or conduct the electrical current of the human finger, is able to garner a response. It's an interesting trade-off, as capacitive screens offer benefits like improved precision and multitouch user display options, but forces tablet users to find specialized products to use in place of their digits.

What better than the Wacom Bamboo Stylus?

The Verdict

The Wacom CS100 Bamboo Stylus Pen for Apple iPad has stunned customers with its incredible utility, quality, and reliability. This little number is the preferred stylus among Apple iPad owners worldwide, created by the very head of the industry. Don't miss the opportunity to own this top-of-the-line product for yourself!

DIFFERENT SHAPES, SIZES AND COLORS We offer many different shapes and sizes of wall aquarium fish tanks for you to choose from.

We recommend FRESH WATER fish for all tanks. If you want to do a SALT WATER fish tank you should only do it in tanks larger than 6 gallons...and even then, preferably 9 gallons or larger.

FRESH WATER FISH

If this is your first aquarium then you may want to set up a freshwater tank. Freshwater tanks are much easier to maintain, and the fish are less expensive too. In addition, it is more difficult to maintain the proper water conditions in a saltwater tank than in a freshwater tank. In general, it is easier to begin with a freshwater tank, however, even if you are a beginner it isn't impossible to succeed in setting up a saltwater tank. If you are interested in setting up a saltwater tank please see the article Setting Up a Saltwater Aquarium.

If you only want a small fish that will live by itself then we recommend a Betta. They do not get along with other Bettas. They require very little maintenace or special chemicals.

If you would like a community of the same fish with a lot of different colors we recommend African Cichlids. They are very low maintenance and are very responsive (interactive) when you walk up to your wall fish tank.

If you want a community of various fish we recommend a few male guppies, tetras, glofish, platys, mollies, sword tails, or any danio.

We do not recommend gold fish. Yes, they are very cheap, but they are very dirty. They eat and create waste a lot! And, gold fish can be toxic to other fish because of all the bacteria they create.

The most important thing is to enjoy your fish. Watch for a few minutes when you can and relax. An aquarium is suppose to be calming, not a lot of work. And our wall aquariums were designed for that reason. They are simple to maintain and are easy to enjoy.
SALT WATER FISH

A general rule of thumb is One 1" saltwater fish per 4 gallons of water. We do not recommend saltwater fish for any tank less than 6 gallons. We the following:
Medium Wall Fish Tank (Panoramic, Bubble, or Rectangular) 2-3 Saltwater fish with water changes every 2 weeks.
Large Wall Fish Tank (Panoramic and Rectangular) 3-4 Saltwater fish with water changes every 2-3 weeks.
Mega Wall Fish Tank (Rectangular) 4-7 Saltwater fish with water changes every 2-3 weeks.
Invertebrates do not count toward the fish total!

If you are just beginning your journey into saltwater fish keeping you should know that some marine fish are easier to keep in captivity than others. The following saltwater fish are good choices for the beginner:

Damsels

These are great saltwater fish for beginners. They come in several different colors. They tolerate changes in water fluctuations better than most other saltwater fish and they will eat a variety of aquarium foods, such as flakes, frozen, freeze-dried, and live food. They are also relatively small about 3-4 inches at most.

The yellow-tailed blue damsel (Chrysiptera parasema) and the blue damsel (Chrysiptera cyanea) in particular are beautiful and peaceful fish that will even spawn in captivity. You can usually purchase them for around 3 to 5 dollars each.

Clownfish

ClownfishClownfish (also known as anemonefish due to their symbiotic relationship with anemomes) are also good beginner fish. They are from the genus Amphiprion and there are several different species.

Despite the ability of clownfish to exist among anemones without getting stung by their tentacles, it is possible to keep clownfish without anemones. Clownfish are relatively easy to keep, but keeping anemones is more difficult and so if you are a beginner you may want to wait until you are more experienced at marine fishkeeping before you acquire one. Because clownfish like to hide among anemones they may feel safer with one present however.

Also, note that clownfish tend to be somewhat territorial toward members of their own species. Depending on the species of clownfish you are interested in they can be acquired for around 10 to 30 dollars each.

Cleaning Goby Goby Aquarium Care Requirements Cleaning gobies are pretty hardy little fish and they usually do well in captivity. They often spawn in the aquarium.

While it is true that they will eat external parasites off of other fish, you will still need to supplement their diet. Feed your cleaner gobies marine foods for carnivores - mysid shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and other meaty-based preparations for saltwater fish.

In addition, you should provide them with plenty of well-established live rock. Cleaner gobies not only graze on the live rock, but they also use it for hiding places. Almost ALL fish feel more secure when they have places to hide.

Cardinal Fish

Cardinalfish don't grow very large and the Banggai cardinalfish only reaches an adult size of about 3-4 inches (8-10 cm). They are good fish for reef tanks and they are peaceful fish that shouldn't be kept with agressive species or fin nippers. You should keep a group of about 6 cardinalfish together providing you have room in your tank. Be sure to provide plenty of rockwork for hiding places.

Cardinalfish are carnivores. They will eat meaty frozen or live foods as well as vitamin enriched brine shrimp. You can also feed them finely chopped shrimp or squid.

Bicolor dottyback The bicolor dottyback (Pseudochromis paccagnellae) is also known as the royal dottyback. It is a brilliantly colored marine fish from the Indo-Pacific.

This fish is very similar in coloration to the Fairy Basslet (Royal Gramma). However, the bicolor dottyback is even smaller than the fairy basslet. The bicolor dottyback reaches a maximum adult size of only 2 inches (5 cm) in length.

Hawkfish

Hawkfish are small fish that lack swim bladders. They can't swim well and so they spend most of their time resting on the bottom of the aquarium. They get around by hopping from one place to another. They are relatively peaceful fish and there are several different kinds. They are meat eating fish and generally don't eat plants. They will eat live, frozen, and freeze-dried foods, and possibly flakes (but not always). In the wild they prefer shallow water and they feed on small fish and crustaceans.

One interesting aspect of hawkfishes is that they seem to have a bit of a personality in that they seem to be more aware of what is going on both in and outside of their tank. They generally cost between 10 to 30 dollars each depending on the species.
